Kayak Rescue Lesson

Never flipped over your kayak before? Never tried to get back in? Don’t know how to help an injured paddler back in to a kayak? These are just a few of the topics covered in this comprehensive class. Learn a variety of rescues to get back in your kayak both solo and assisted such as the scramble or T-Rescue. Discover ways to help other paddlers back into their kayak who are hurt or fatigued with rescues like the Scoop or Hand of God. The goal is to develop the easiest and most efficient rescue for you and your paddling partners.

Kayaking Lessons Naples

Things to know for the class:
Your class will be taught by an ACA Certified Level 3 Instructor. Students should plan on bringing a snack and a few liters of water for the course. The weather in Naples, Florida is generally warm and sunny most days of the year. Cold fronts do move through throughout the Fall, Winter and Spring and heavy rain with wind rolls through in Summer storms. Dress for immersion and plan to have adequate sun-protection including a hat in addition to sunglasses.

Equipment required for the class:
A touring or sea kayak with bulkheads or floatbags is required as well as a spray skirt, PFD and double bladed paddle. Additionally, you will need a Paddle Float, Rescue Stirrup, Pump and Towline. Anything you do not have can be provided for you with advanced notice.
